Nathan Smith co-founded Push Films, Inc., an independent production company. Push Films produces feature films, short films and television shows. Smith manages all aspects of development including sourcing ideas and scripts, working closely with writers to develop projects, liaise with industry executives and agents, attach talent, secure financing, while shepherding the entire creative and production process. In February 2009, he produced a television pilot presentation for the Fox Television Network entitled, Ashley The Wise.Push Films has successfully managed the below-the-line productions of Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle for New Line Cinema and The Grudge for Sony Pictures. Also, Push Films has produced the television series Shoot Me 2 Los Angeles for the Fashion Television Network. Smith and Push Films have secured financing, developed and produced short films that earned screenings at numerous film festivals including San Diego, Newport and Screamfest.In 1999 he was hired by Paramount Pictures Production Services Department, which packaged below-the-line production services for independent film productions. Among the films he has worked on through Production Services are Meatloaf From Hell and Back, The Amati Girls, Going Greek and Simone. In 2000 Smith was promoted to the Motion Picture Distribution Department for Paramount Pictures where he was involved in the distribution of Paramount Pictures 2001 theatrical releases. Save The Last Dance, Down To Earth, Enemy at the Gates, Tomb Raider and Vanilla Sky, to name a few.Smith began his career in the entertainment industry in the Summer of 1991 as a production assistant on a Paramount Pictures television sitcom directed by famed director James Burrows.Smith holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Studies with a Concentration in Radio and Television and a minor in Cinema Studies from Northeastern University class of 1998.
