Naoto Tajima was born on August 15, 1912 in Osaka, Japan. A graduate of Kyoto Imperial University in Kyoto, Japan, Tajima placed sixth in the men's long jump at the 1932 Olympics in Los Angeles, California. Naoto went on to win both the bronze medal in the men's long jump and the gold medal in the men's triple jump at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, Germany. Moreover, Tajima set a world record in the men's triple jump at 16.00 meters that remained unbroken until 1951. Naoto died at age 78 on December 4, 1990 in Tokyo, Japan. Show less «
