Mirza Metin is a playwright and director.Artistic Director and Cofounder of Sermon Performans Kurdish Coordinator of Eurodram (European Network for Drama in Translation) Codirector of Nexus (Kurdish German Theatre Network)He was born in 1980. He studied acting at Mezopotamia Culture Center and dance at Folk Dances Department of Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music Conservatory (dropped out). He graduated from Istanbul University, Department of Dramaturgy and Theatre Criticism. He works as a thespian since 1994. In 2008, he co-founded Sermola Performans (previously Destar Theatre) with Berfin Zenderlioglu. He was awarded by various institutions for the plays he wrote, directed and performed under Sermola Performans. He reviewed traditional Kurdish story tellers in the field of voice, breathing and storytelling; he ran workshops, and did further research about acting with these experiments. He writes in Kurdish and Turkish. His 13 plays out of 15 has been staged by himself or by other directors. Some of his plays were translated into Turkish, German and English.
