Mindy Marin began her career in the field of casting in the television division at Paramount Pictures. Following two years in the department at Paramount, she moved to Warner Bros. Television where she was assigned the casting of her own projects. In 1989, Marin formed her own company, Casting Artists, Inc. Since that time she has cast more than seventy five films. In 1991, Marin formed a production company, Bluewater Ranch Entertainment, as well as Bluewater Ranch Books, headquartered in Santa Monica, California. Marin wrote her first book, The Secret to Tender Pie, published by Ballantine Books that debuted on The Los Angeles Times bestseller list, and received glowing reviews from the national media.In her over thirty years career as a Casting Director, Marin has cast both feature films and television. Marin has just completed casting on Imagine written and directed by Dan Fogelman starring Al Pacino, Annette Bening, Jennifer Garner and Christopher Plummer and The Good Lie for Imagine Entertainment, Reliance Entertainment and Black Label Media, inspired by the stories of the Lost Boys of Sudan. Recent credits include The Hangover III directed by Todd Phillips for Warner Bros., Paramount's Jack Reacher, starring Tom Cruise and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, Drive, starring Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan and Warner Bros' and Crazy, Stupid, Love starring Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore and Emma Stone. Past credits include Fox Searchlight's 2008 Oscar Nominee for Best Picture Juno, Up in the Air starring George Clooney, and Wanted starring Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman, and James McAvoy.Marin began her producing career as an Associate Producer on 2 Days in the Valley for MGM, was an Executive Producer on Night at the Golden Eagle, Associate Producer on The Deep End with Tilda Swinton and Goran Visnjic for Fox Searchlight, Co-Produced The Alibi with Steve Coogan and James Marsden for Sony, The Family Stone with Sarah Jessica Parker, Diane Keaton and Rachel McAdams for Fox 2000, and 2007 Oscar Nominee Thank You For Smoking starring Aaron Eckhart for Fox Searchlight. Marin is currently in development on a TV series Ain't Life Grand partially inspired by her book The Secret to Tender Pie. In 2013 she was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as a Member-At-Large.She makes her home in both Santa Monica, California and at Bluewater Ranch North in Bolinas, California.
