Miles Bleek Basurto was born on July 8 1977, in San Jose, California. He is the only child of a college professor, Imelda Ann Basurto who is a Mexican American and Calvin Jerome Lee who is African American who worked in real estate and other sales. After graduating from high school in the San Fernando Valley of Southern California catching the acting bug while appearing as a background actor on JAG (1999) then becoming a regular Orderly on ER (1999).After joining the Screen Actors Guild in 1999, Miles decided to attend college with the goal of pursuing a law degree. He had started out working on an undergraduate degree in Radio, TV, and Film from California State University Northridge only to switch majors finishing with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Broadcast Journalism in 2006. He worked as a journalist for a few local papers and spent some time as a newscaster on radio. He was a reporter/writer contributing to Evening Updates that won the Golden Microphone for the best newscast over 15 minutes receiving an Edward R. Murrow award in the small market newscast category.He has always continued to pursue his craft of acting even while earning an education with his first speaking role being in Haunted House (2004) by Conrad John then among the many projects he participated in he enjoyed being on Mind of Mencia (2005) in The Rich Sheik rap video.In 2017 Miles began studying his craft under the tutelage of Mark Dae-Lee at The Actor's Collective in Burbank, California.
