Mieko "Chic" Smith was born in Los Angeles, CA. She was born into a musical family with a gospel singing mother and a classically trained opera singing father. Her love of music and the arts began at a very young age. Her mother supporting her aspiration to be an actor an she began taking commercial acting classes at age 16. Mieko's big break came in 2016 when she was cast as "Cherry" in the hit reality show "Flavor of Love" on VH1 with 51 Minds Entertainment. Flavor of Love became a cult classic and pop culture phenomenon and Mieko tasted her first taste of success. Mieko then turned her attention behind the camera and produced a dramatic feature film entitled "Nobody's Smiling". The film was an official selection in the Pan African Film Festival in 2010. Mieko discovered her true passion was comedy and decided to take her talents to the stage. Mieko was a featured stand up comedian at venues around Los Angeles including the world famous "Ice House" in Pasadena, CA in 2019. Mieko then switched gears and collaborated with long time friend Stephen "Stix" Josey who wrote, directed, and starred in the feature film "Stay Fly". Mieko was co-producer on the film drama that also features her "Flavor of Love" cast mate Nikki "Hoopz" Alexander which is set for release in April 2021.
