Mickey Poppins rose to fame as Lance Powell in Channel Four's Brookside for Mersey TV. Before that he had worked mainly in theater including a stint at The National Theatre but had made guests appearances in such TV shows as The Bill and Lovejoy. After Brookside, he appeared as a semi-regular on Channel Five's Family Affairs before turning his back on acting in 2005. Having already written and directed a number of short films including The Boy from Ipenema and Ice Cream Jesus he made the leap into full-time directing. Going back to his original name Mickey Jones he directed six episodes of Family Affairs and has since directed several episodes of Emmerdale. In February 2006, he will be returning to his Mersey TV roots directing Hollyoaks. Show less «
