Stunning and talented French-American actress Mickaëlle X. Bizet (Mee-kah-elle X. Beeh-zay) is the newest breakout star on ABC's critically-acclaimed, award-winning anthology series "American Crime." X. Bizet plays the role of "Gabrielle Durand," a woman who comes to the U.S. to work as a nanny to the child of "Clair Coates" (Lilli Taylor) and "Nicholas Coates" (Timothy Hutton) and who finds herself in a heart wrenching situation. X. Bizet's powerful performance of Gabrielle has already started to garner her recognition and buzz this award season. Also starring Felicity Huffman and Regina King, the thrilling drama series created and executive-produced by Academy Award winner John Ridley (12 YEARS A SLAVE) and Michael McDonald, examines "preconceptions on faith, family, gender, race, class and other aspects of our social experience through an approach and perspectives historically underserved in media." Set in North Carolina, the highly anticipated third season deals with burning issues such as sex-trafficking, forced labor, immigration, modern day slavery, reproductive rights and women's healthcare, and xenophobia. Bizet is a multifaceted actress who can easily portray a Black Urban Mary Poppins or the most demonic version of Cruella De Vil. She is best known for her memorable yet disturbing role as fetal abductor "Veronica Deramous" in the acclaimed TV One series "Will to Live." She was also nominated for 'Best Lead Actress' at the Atlanta Independent Film Festival for her work in the short film ROUBADO by Erica Watson and also starred in the short film KICKSTART THEFT by the late Fred Goodich (FEAR NO EVIL) and Academy Award Winner Vilmos Zsigmond (CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND).Of humble beginnings and born on the French-Caribbean island of Martinique, X. Bizet was raised in Paris and always knew she was born to be an actress. After two years at l'Université Paris-Sorbonne, X. Bizet left her entire life in France behind and moved alone to Boston to become an au pair, with the hopes of pursuing her American Dream in the back of her mind. Instead of returning to Paris after a year, she decided to stay in the States and attended Quincy Community College, then UMass Boston graduating Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Secondary Education and the recognition of Student Teacher of The Year. After teaching in Massachusetts for a few years, her Hollywood dream kept whispering in her soul so X. Bizet moved to Los Angeles in 2009 and began to secure consistent acting work while also working as a teacher in different LA area schools until July 2016, just a few months shy of being added to the cast of American Crime. In the past year, she has been working closely with a young autistic woman who has opened her eyes and heart to a whole new world. This led to spark her interest in autism awareness and hopes to help spread awareness and raise funds for autism research. X. Bizet meditates and visualizes her way through life, and health, soulful spirituality, and fitness are a vital part of her wellbeing. She aims to one day live solely on a raw plant-based, whole-foods nutrition lifestyle and stays fit by practicing Bikram Yoga and biking.
