Michiko Sasaki, a dancer and actress was born in Kyoto, Japan, to parents of Hiroko and Takaaki Sasaki, native Japanese parents. Her passion for music started at the age of 6, when her father put her into piano lessons and out shined all the kids at their state piano competitions in Denver, Co. Growing up in Denver, she soon recognized her love for Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Ballroom. She danced all throughout high school and found herself auditioning for a Dinner Theater in Denver which started her work as a professional union actress. She then moved to NYC to pursue her Dreams in Broadway Productions. She landed her first big Broadway job in the 1st National Tour of 42ND Street as a dancer/singer. This lead her to work in other productions such as a Radio City Rockette at Radio City, Miss Saigon National Tour, Sayonara Off Broadway Production, Norwegian Cruise Lines, and many other regional productions throughout the US. When a noticeable casting director pointed her strong acting abilities in her dance auditions, she new then that was her beginning as a straight actress. Her acting opportunities have led her to national commercials, TV shows such as The Fresh Beat Band, Bunheads, White Collar and new web series Candy Shop.
