Michala had a strong passion for performing, even at a young age. Raised in a small town in Saskatchewan, she first began performing at the age of ten, training professionally in ballet; studying with the Royal Academy of Dance. This early training lead her to study in a variety of styles such as, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Ballroom and Musical Theatre. However, Michala's professional dancing career ended in wake of an injury. With her course changing direction, she took up modeling after being recommended to a local agency in Regina, Saskatchewan. Not long after she starting her modeling career, she transitioned into acting for film and television. After filming an independent feature in Saskatchewan, she moved to Toronto where she completed her MFA in theatre, and continued her on-camera training with several notable instructors and facilities. Michala landed her first professional acting gig on Hulu's Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning television series, The Handmaid's Tale, opposite award-winning actress, Samira Wiley (Orange is the New Black). She continues to assemble credits, including a lead in the feature film Survival Box, and Boys vs. Girls playing opposite the Canadian stars and improv masters Colin Mochrie (Who's Line is it Anyway?) and Kevin McDonald (The Kids in the Hall).
