Michael A. Lilly was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. His parents were Capt. P.A. (Tony) and Ginger Lilly. Michael A. Lilly was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. His parents were Capt. P.A. (Tony) and Ginger Lilly. An honor graduate of the University of the Pacific's McGeorge School of Law, Michael served as Hawaii's Attorney General and First Deputy Attorney General (1981-85) and is a partner in the Honolulu law firm Ning Lilly & Jones. A decorated Vietnam War Veteran, Michael served three years on active duty and 27 in the reserve, retiring as a Navy Captain. In private practice, he won the largest wrongful termination jury verdict in Hawaii history and, in a civil rights action, an exemption for vaccinated guide dogs from Hawaii's 4-month rabies quarantine for which he received several awards. He is a Founding Director of the USS Missouri Memorial Association which relocated the Battleship to Pearl Harbor as a memorial and one of Hawaii's most successful tourist attractions. In the movie Battleship, Michael was seen "blown up" by an alien peg bomb. Michael authored "If You Die Tomorrow", a layman's guide to estate planning and is a frequent speaker on legal topics at seminars and on radio and television.
