Actor and voice over artist Melissa O'Brien was born in Southfield, Michigan and adopted into a family with two older brothers and various pets. Her early years found her playing news anchor and radio DJ at home while performing in dance recitals, school plays and choirs. After interning for local radio stations WKSG and then Q95-FM for Detroit radio legend Dick Purtan, she earned a degree in Communications. She went on to work at a small radio station where her jobs included DJ'ing, production and website design. Her radio experience led her to pursue a successful voice over career, and the Michigan film incentive inspired Melissa to become an actor. Even though the film incentive was removed shortly after it's inception, she continues to work in films and commercials, has produced short films and a TV pilot, and wrote a screenplay which was produced for a local competition. Over the years, Melissa has been a singer and keyboard player with a local band, continued her dance training and volunteered her time as a text book reader for Recording for the Blind, an adoption speaker for CSS, a tutor for Michigan Literacy Partners and delivering for Meals on Wheels. She lives in Southeastern Michigan with her husband, son and daughter.
