Mei-Yin Lloyd was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and reared in Toronto and Hamilton, Ontario. She first began her career as a booker/agent at a modeling agency, and only began modeling on the insistence of her clients, who were more interested in booking Mei-Yin than her models. At first, Mei-Yin was reluctant to model, but after persistent calls from clients, she stepped in front of the camera and launched her modeling career.The daughter of an Anglo-Canadian father and a Chinese mother, Mei-Yin Lloyd possesses a diverse look that transcends continents. Mei-Yin has been featured on billboards, print ads and television commercials across Asia, Europe, North and South America. She has appeared in advertising campaigns for M o l s o n Canadian, Levi's, Versace and Mini Cooper; as well as in television commercials for McDonald's, May Company, Keith's Beer and Wal-Mart Canada.Acting in television commercials ignited a passion for acting, and inspired Mei-Yin to pursue roles in film and television. Mei-Yin has studied with some of Toronto's noted acting teachers, and at Toronto's The Actors Studio and the Professional Actors Lab acting conservatory. She also developed her acting skills in local theater productions and workshops. Fully devoted to her craft, Mei-Yin attributes her work ethic to her desire to want to improve and always challenge herself.After spending years modeling in Toronto and Hong Kong, Hollywood beckoned, and Mei-Yin moved to L.A. to further her acting career, pursue television hosting opportunities and voice-over work.
