Maylen was born in Cuba and raised in Miami, Florida. Her career as an actress began in Miami performing in theater then touring and winning awards nationally. Soon she started writing and directing plays. Her passion for the performing arts led her to Los Angeles, CA where she began learning about filmmaking. Maylen continues her acting and now makes her own films. She has produced, written and directed several shorts "The Three Bilinguals" being her sixth.
