Maya Sieber was born in Manhattan, New York City. Her mother is an artist, author, and educator while her father is German and a Mason by trade. Sieber grew up as a tomboy in a small farm town in New Jersey and aspired to be a truck driver since the age of five (she played with both Barbie dolls and toy trucks when she was a little girl). Maya was a model prior to becoming a truck driver in 2007. Sieber drove an eighteen wheeler truck around New York City for three years prior to joining the cast of the hit reality TV series Ice Road Truckers (2007) during its fifth season.
