Max Lalanne was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, near Paris, France to Chinese-American fashion designer mother and French artist father, and moved to New England, USA with his family at a young age. An accomplished authentic Uechi-Ryu karate junior black belt (because he's under 16), and new England champion of karate sparring and Kung Fu weapons, he became interested in acting only after watching M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender trailer.Max started writing and directing spec commercials in 2009, often casting his sister Mia Lalanne, and himself as leads. In 2010, Max finished his first narrative short film, the 18-minute Awakening. Awakening went on to win a prestigious Gold Remi Award at the WorldFest-Houston in 2011 and was screened at the Monaco International Charity Film Festival in the Princess Grace Theater. Max has since auto-produced four additional shorts and he hopes to find time to finish his steampunk feature screenplay. Show less «
