Maura Megan Knowles is a versatile actor/singer/writer/producer whose projects have included prominent theatre roles in "Francis Ford Coppola's Gidget," the award-winning rock musical "Bare" (directed by Tony nominee Kristin Hanggi and, more recently, her original musical comedy series Insult to Injury (2016). As a vocalist, she has recorded CD's for various labels.A few of her favorite performing credits include "The Christians" at the Mark Taper Forum and her one-woman shows "Life's Little Ironies" and "Get Ready, 'Cause Here I Am" at the Cinegrill as a fundraiser for the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Diabetes Association. A member of the Irish-American Writers & Artists in New York and the L.A. Writer's Center, and one of twelve songwriters accepted into the Mercer Great American Songwriting Program at Northwestern University in Chicago, Maura's writings have been featured at playwright's festivals and published in various magazines and website blogs (e.g., The Morselist).When Maura first arrived to Los Angeles, she caught the attention of Warren Beatty, who upgraded her to a featured role in the film Bulworth (1998), which earned her a SAG card. Leading roles in independent films followed, including Sex Tax: Based on a True Story (2010), The Yard Sale (2002) with Anne Meara, and the yet-to-be-released "Abide With Me" with Laura Prepon and Jeffrey Donovan, as well as various episodic TV appearances.Her "other" life is a.k.a. Mo, the Morselist and an integrative Health Coach (AAFDP). As the creator and C.E.O. of MAC-N-MOS, INC., a healthy baked goods company created in honor of her dad Mac, she is also the author of two cookbooks.A passionate traveler (the "Wanderlust Queen"), Maura has also performed internationally, including Europe, Greece, Turkey, Southeast Asia, Japan, China, Africa, the Seychelles Islands, the Caribbean, French Polynesia, Central and South America, Canada. She has also been actively involved with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles organization since 2005.
