Matthew Payne, more commonly known as 'Matt Payne' is an English born actor and aspiring filmmaker best known for his roles in 'Whitechapel' (2009) and 'Get a Grip' (2007). Matt was born to his mother Linda, a carer and nursery teacher and his father Paul Payne, a scrap metal yard worker.Matt took to theater and performing at a very young age. Joining his local theater school gave Matthew the courage to fulfill small acting parts in local plays, pantomimes and shows; building his way to much larger roles in performances. Matthew, then joined an agency through the recommendation of his theater school where they offered several parts to audition for, including roles in that of the BBC soap opera 'EastEnders' (1985-), several adverts plus performances for different brands such as 'Clarks'. Through his uprising in theater and confidence gain from wide audiences, Matthew realized his huge childhood passion for film-making, after his first 'make' role in The first Season of 'Whitechapel' (2009) as James Miles. Working with the ITV, he discovered the enjoyment he would take from being behind screen as well as being on screen, and that film-making would be the ideal career. Taking a break from acting, Matthew studied film at school, with his friends and pretty much any time he could afford to study film. To the extent of moving down to Brighton in late 2016 to study at a specialist film school in which his cousin had recommended him.Through his studies, Matt has continued to work on his short films and also write screenplays for possible future films.
