Matthan Harris was born on September 23, 1986 in Fort Worth, Texas. Matthan was fascinated with film at an early age with such movies as Jaws, The Silence of the Lambs, Alien, The Exorcist and Psycho. Throughout his college years, Matthan wrote, directed, and acted in several short films, including Counter-Blow, which won the Bronze Remi Award for Best Directing-Shorts at the WorldFest-Houston Film Festival in 2008.Matthan received his Bachelor's Degree in Radio/Television/Film from the University of North Texas in May 2009 and shortly after began production on his first professional short film, Nothing Left. Nothing Left won the Gold Remi Award for Best Directing-Shorts at the WorldFest-Houston and also screened at Cannes - Short Film Corner.Continuing in the tradition of his short films, Matthan wrote, produced, directed and acted in his first feature film The Inflicted alongside horror icons Doug Bradley (Hellraiser), Bill Moseley (The Devil's Rejects), Sid Haig (House of 1000 Corpses) and Giovanni Lombardo Radice (City of the Living Dead). Matthan wrapped production on The Inflicted in October 2011. The Inflicted won the Gold Remi Award for Best First Feature at WorldFest-Houston. It screened at over 20 film festivals worldwide, including Texas Frightmare Weekend, Fantafestival, and Weekend of Horrors. It was released on DVD and VOD by Osiris Entertainment on May 21, 2013.In April 2014, Matthan had the incredible opportunity to play Jacek, a German deaf-mute, in the horror anthology feature German Angst. Matthan learned German Sign Language for the role, and was flown to Berlin for the shoot. He had a wonderful experience working with German Angst's three directors: Michal Kosakowski (Zero Killed), Andreas Marschall (Masks), and Jörg Buttgereit (Nekromantik, Schramm). Matthan was also hired by the directors to record the voiceover narrations for the film's trailers.Matthan Harris currently lives in Los Angeles and is working on his next feature film, Baphomet, through his production company, Incisive Pictures. He also stays busy with acting roles for the screen as well as the stage. Some of his work includes "Murder Made Me Famous," "Unusual Suspects," Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights, a Subway commercial, and a Pantera music video. Show less «
