Matt Musgrove was born in Eugene, Oregon is an Equity Member and holds a BFA Degree in Musical Theatre from the prestigious Ithaca College in New York. The son of Mark Musgrove, the past President of The National Funeral Directors Association, Musgrove grew up "six feet under" working for his family's business while pursuing his dream to become a professional actor.Most recently, Musgrove portrayed the villain Black Scar in the fantasy film "The Zodiac Fighters" (2018) in Bejing, China, as well as the soldier Sullivan in the widely anticipated adventure/thriller "The Prey" (2019) with Danny Trejo, NickChinlund and Kevin Grevioux.Musgrove delivered a riveting performance as Lord Edward Gelson, the Viscount of Wesbury, in the world's first transmedia romance series "The Elements Club", produced by KYS Realm. The series includes video games, interactive ebooks, and online episodes.Musgrove is well respected in the Eugene, Oregon theatre community. An accomplished stage actor in his own right, Musgrove has played numerous leading roles. He has received rave reviews in his many performances for the acclaimed Oregon Festival of American Music where he has portrayed Slick Fothergill in the Gershwin musical, "Girl Crazy", Tommy Albright in "Brigadoon", and Will Parker in "Oklahoma".He recently played the butler Lurch in "The Real Housekeepers of Studio City" musical at The Asylum Theater, winner of Hollywood Fringe Festival 2013 for Best of Fringe Extension and Footlights Award; Nominee for Best Musical and Best World Premiere.Musgrove performed in the national tour of "We the People", a musical about the founding fathers; nominated for the Lucille Lortel 2011 Award, best Off-Broadway musical. He played the role of Benjamin Franklin.Musgrove has been featured in the NY Times as part of the Family Opera Initiative's original libretto, CAT the Opera and the LA Weekly as a comedic host to the TheOneRing.net. He also was a soloist in the original cast recording of Ian Strasfogel's Opera, "Il Musico". He also worked with Peter Flynn (Artistic Director of the Hangar Theatre) on Kenny Finkle's new play "Penelope of Ithaca".At Ithaca, Musgrove worked with the founder of the Playwright Horizon's Robert Moss, in the title role of Cashel in "Cashel Byron's Profession", an original production. He has performed numerous roles including King Midas/Vertumnus in "Metamorphoses", Faria in "The Count of Monte Cristo", and First Reporter/Floyd Collin 's US in "Floyd Collins".He has also performed in numerous theaters and venues around Oregon playing featured roles, such as Cinderella's Prince in "Into the Woods"; Leon Czolgosz in "Assassins"; and Richard Henry Lee in 1776.
