Mary-Rachel was born into the world of theatre: Her British father the Honorable Oliver Foot and American mother Nancy Bruce Foot were the founding members of Footsbarn Theatre - a non-profit, grass roots theatre company that revived the Cornish legends, Shakespeare and modern theatre. The group made their own costumes, wrote original works and did their own choreography and music.It is through her experience with Footsbarn that she started performing. She acted in her first play at the age of 6 and since then has never lost her love for the stage.Mary-Rachel also comes from a highly respected, world-renowned Political family in England. Her grandfather Sir Hugh Foot also known as Lord Caradon was a British diplomat who led the British Colonies to their independence. He was created Lord Caradon after he retired as last British colonial governor of Cyprus.Sir Hugh was also British Ambassador to the United Nations as well as Governor of Jamaica, Cyprus and Nigeria. The Queen knighted him for his foreign service in Palestine, Jamaica, Cyprus and Nigeria. He also served in the House of Lords.Her great-uncle, the Rt. Honorable Michael Foot (Sir Hugh Foot's Brother), was A Labour party MP and former party leader who ran against Margaret Thatcher for Prime Minister.Her uncle, Paul Foot, a veteran journalist, was once voted journalist of the decade in the UK; he wrote for the Socialist Worker and Private Eye magazine (a political satire).Mary-Rachel moved to the United States in 1979. From the age of 9-18 she lived on Long Island, New York where she thrived as an athlete as well as won musical and dramatic awards. Nominated by her classmates most likely to succeed, most all around, most dramatic and most musical. Mary-Rachel attended Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts where she majored in broadcast journalism and communications.In 1992, she moved to California where she began an enchanting introduction into the world of entertainment in Los Angeles. Following in her father's footsteps, Mary-Rachel also started her own theatre company, The Rogue Theatre Company, where members wrote, directed and performed in original works at the Zephyr Theatre, Los Angeles.
