Mary C. Russell is a genre female film director, originally from the Bay Area but grew up a little differently then the average American girl. Moving to Singapore at eight years old as an expat. Currently now located in Los Angeles two years out of Columbia College Hollywood graduating in 2014 with a BFA majoring in directing. Mary directed, wrote, and produced a horror slasher short film, "Carved," last year that was screened at the NewFilmmakers LA film festival in 2015. Drawing inspiration from the 1971, "Vanishing Point," and Tarantino's "Death Proof." It involves a soul of a satanic inmate that possesses innocent people on the road to. It was screened at the Days of the Dead: Los Angeles convention with Etheria Film Night 2016. She loves screenwriting horror concepts, especially ones that will mess you up. "Give them pleasure the same pleasure they have when they wake up from a nightmare," a favorite Hitchcock quote. Mary has worked in pre-production and development of scripts with dramas, horrors, thrillers, and science fiction. She regularly works as a script supervisor and film editor.
