Marta Celina Ogonek was born and raised in Warsaw, Poland where she studied dance and acting since a very young age. Her passion and skill as a dancer (tap, modern, hip-hop) grew along with her as she won many awards. During the same time, Marta also developed an interest in painting. At the age of 10 she won an award at the "Ecology in Art Competition" for her drawing of "Humming Bird and Lily". Upon finishing primary school, Marta auditioned for acting roles on several TV series. Once established, she became a working actor in Warsaw landing many commercials and television projects. Marta developed a passion for cinematography while attending The National University of Film, Television, and Theater in Lodz, Poland, at the Department of Film and Television Production, from where she graduated. During her studies she completed a number of acting and dancing courses in Warsaw, including Buffo Dance School, Caro Dance, Irina Nowakowska Tap Dance School, and Beatrycze Lukaszewska Actors Studio. She also landed a job as a judge on the show, Room Riders, MTV Poland's European version. Marta debuted as a short film producer of the movie Everything, directed by Artur Wyrzykowski. The movie was presented at the Polish Film Festival in Los Angeles in September 2008. Marta lives in Toronto, Canada where she heads organizing the Toronto Polish Film Festival and is a founder of the nonprofit organization, Ekran Polish Film Association in Canada.
