Rock star drummer, Mark Schulman was born and raised in Los Angeles. He became interested in pursuing music at the age of 3 after witnessing the phenomenon of Beatlemania and seeing Ringo Starr playing the drums.Mark has parlayed that desire into a major career. Schulman is a first call drummer for top tier rock, pop and jazz bands and solo artists. With a resume that reads like a "Who's Who" of global Rock n' Roll royalty, including acts such as Sheryl Crow, Destiny's Child, Billy Idol, Cher (Mark was drummer on the 'Believe' and 'Farewell' tours, two of the most-attended tours in music history) and Japanese pop star Eikichi Yazawa. He has drummed with Velvet Revolver at Ozzfest and for crowds of 200,000 at Glastonbury Festival with Simple Minds. Mark is the recipient of numerous Gold and Platinum discs. The 'Rock Star Drummer', as he has been coined, recruited by Grammy-Award winner Pink for her 'I'm Not Dead' World Tour, also appearing on numerous international television and variety shows and and several international MTV award shows. The 14 month, 2006-2007 arena tour saw Mark playing 150+ dates in North America, Europe and Australia.Schulman is a classically trained cellist and as a teen, played with the Los Angeles Junior Philharmonic. He is also a trained audio engineer and an active educator having taught at the Los Angeles Music Academy and as one of the World's most sought after drum clinicians hosting clinics in countries around the World including at the renown Musician's Institute in L.A.Music is not Mark's only driving force; he is the chairman of the board of directors of Create Now!, a non-profit organization founded in 1996, to help change troubled children's lives through creative arts mentoring. A cancer survivor himself, Mark and his manager have co-founded of TestThese! - The Mark Schulman Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation.Writing/production credits include dozens of television commercials, radio jingles, media projects, various national TV shows and feature films for clients such as: McDonald's, Mattel, IBM, Ben 10, Sony, Acura, Novalogic, Neutrogena, Honda, The Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, Showtime, USA Network, Comedy Central, CMT and Nashville Networks, The Sopranos, School of Rock, Speed and Beverly Hills Cop III.
