A unusual, middle-aged man whose contributions to the adult film industry lie not in performances on a set in bed but rather through thoughts, opinions and his experiences with politics. Mark Kernes was born on July 20, 1948 in New Jersey. He was exposed to various types of political views and types of government, including communism, which his parents were raised in and socialism. However he discovered libertarianism while attending New York Univerisity in 1970, studying as an English Major. Afterwards, he spent 19 years as a public stenographer. He developed a disdain for the power government holds, after spending two stints in prison, the first in 1969 and the second time in 1983 for two separate offenses. As a writer, he found employment with Adult Video News (AVN) and had his first review published in the fourth issue in May 1983. In 1991, he joined the staff full-time after that point. In 1992, he made his debut on camera in a pornographic feature Sodom and Gomorrah (V). Among the sparse listings of appearances he has made in front of cameras, generally all of his work has not involved any sexual acts. The sole exception to this involves the 1995 production titled Secret Life of Herbet Dingle (V). His credits stretch sporadically across the '90s and just once in the new century. After 2002, Mark did not appear in any productions, suggesting he spent his time as a writer, composing articles and essays. In 2010, after eight years away from cameras, he appeared in the video Gia: Portrait of a Pornstar and twice more in 2011. Show less «
