Mark Bowen is an actor and playwright residing in Long Beach, California. Only recently has he resumed his pursuit of the dramatic arts after a near twenty year hiatus following college.Mark was born in the Bay Area and raised in Orange County. He attended UCLA, and graduated in June, 1997 with a B.A. in History. He then went on to become a High School History teacher and bought his first home in Long Beach, where he became active in local politics, winning a seat on the Board of Trustees at Long Beach City College, where he served two terms from 2006-2014.In 2010 he was invited to audition at the Maverick Theater in Fullerton by friends he and his wife Sara had made there while attending its weekend improv show. Cast in their production of The Hobbit, Mark's love of the theatre was reawakened, and he has never looked back.Since then, he has performed at theaters all over Southern California, and has recently begun to land roles in film as well. He is a member of New Voices Playwrights Theatre, where his plays have been performed in their annual "Summer Voices" festivals. His first full length play, Weeds of Sloth, opened at Community Actors Theatre in San Diego in June of 2016. Show less «
