Marissa Anita is an Indonesian actress. She is known for her work in Solo Solitude ("Istirahatlah Kata-Kata") as Sipon, the wife of the disappeared democracy activist Widji Thukul. For this role, Tempo Magazine awarded her Best Actress of the Year in 2016. Marissa was also awarded Best New Actress by Piala Maya in 2014 for her role as Naomi in In the Absence of the Sun ("Selamat Pagi Malam"). She received a nomination from Festival Film Indonesia (FFI) as Best Supporting Actress 2017 for her role as Tantri in Galih & Ratna.Marissa made her stage debut in a Jakarta production of A.R. Gurney's the Dining Room in 2005. She also acted in a Sydney Australia production of Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along in 2007.She is of West Sumatran, East Javan, and Chinese descent. She speaks Indonesian and English fluently. She has studied other foreign languages including French, Italian, Mandarin Chinese, and Japanese.She has master's degrees in journalism and digital media and society from Australia and the UK.She is also a television journalist and presenter.
