Marie Debrey was born and raised in Miami, Florida, which she still calls home. During her senior year in high school, she auditioned and won a spot on the Burdines' Teen Board, which was a group of models that traveled within the Burdines(now Macys) family of stores doing fashion shows and community outreach. Through this, she was also selected to do her first photo shoot for a magazine. Though she was presently working for the electric company, she decided to quit her job and pursue modeling full time. The next several years brought bookings and trips to Japan, Guam, Italy, France and many locations in the Caribbean and within the United States. Modeling led to TV commercials, and they in turn led to the love of acting. One of her first roles was that of an Iranian woman in The Eyes of Exiles, an independent film which gave her the chance to explore a depth of emotions, as well as being physically challenged. In training, Marie has gained insight and technique from all of her teachers and coaches, but lists Jered Barclay and the late Mervyn Nelson as two of her favorites, for their honesty and humor. With each role, Marie continues to strengthen her skills, and enjoy the knowledge and company of many incredible actors, directors, and crew.
