Maria Veronica Diaz was born in Venezuela, raised in Miami, FL. At the age of 10 Maria decided she wanted sing. Coming from a Hispanic family, her parents wanted her to thrive for a more "realistic" profession. Despite being told by many that she would not succeed, her passion for the arts grew more and more. She was part of the chorus club throughout elementary and middle school and would sing in different school shows. In high school (Felix Varela High) she chose to take theater class and fell in love with drama. That is when she decided to take a break from singing and practice her acting skills. At 15 Maria and her family moved back to Venezuela due to financial issues. Here she graduated from "Colegio Los Ilustres". In her time in Venezuela, she perfected her Spanish and even performed at two end of the year talent shows. At 19 years old Maria was able to move back to Miami and start fresh. This is when she began taking classes at Miami-Dade College, majoring in Drama.
