Marc Warzecha is the writer/director of the new play "Twistered! The Wickedly Ridiclous Wizard of OZ", now playing at the Second City - Hollywood.Marc currently serves as Associate Artistic Director of The Second City Hollywood. He has worked with The Second City comedy theatre as awriter and director, recently directing and serving as script consultant on the Center Theatre Group's production of "The Second City's Christmas Carol: Twist Your Dickens" at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Los Angeles.Other recent SC writing and directing credits include, "An Evening with Martin Short" (Tour), "BarackStars" (Woolly Mammoth, Washington DC), "The Art of Satire" (National Tour in collaboration with The Economist Magazine), "Can You Be More Pacific?" (Laguna Playhouse, Laguna Beach, California), "Pratfall of Civilization" (The Second City Chicago ETC - Joseph Jefferson nominee: "Best Director") "War! Now in it's 4th Smash Year!" (Second City Chicago Mainstage- Joseph Jefferson nominee: Best Director, Best Revue, Best Ensemble). Marc was also a writer/performer in six original Second City Resident Company reviews.Four of his original plays have been successfully produced in the last several years, including "Oprah! The Musical!" and "F--- You, I Love You, Goodbye: The Rahm Emanuel Story" at Chicago's Annoyance Theatre. Another satiric play, "Kwame a River: The Chronicles of a Hip Hop Mayor" was nominated for Encore Michigan's "Best New Script."Marc's work as a satirist has been featured on ABC's "Nightline", Newsweek magazine, and the Washington Post, and he has been a guest on CNN's "Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer" and NPR's "All Things Considered."Marc was recently a guest lecturer for the Comedy Central network in Spain (Paramount Comedy), a guest director at Yoshimoto Comedy in Toyko, Japan, and guest director of comedic ensembles throughout Norway and Lativa as a representative of the United States Embassy based in Riga, Latvia.Marc is originally from Detroit, MI and now lives in Los Angeles. He is the founder and Executive Producer of "Laugh on Behalf", a Los Angeles based all-volunteer collective dedicated to producing live comedy events to benefit existing non-profit organizations.
