Malakai Green was born in Winter Park, Florida, to Christina Sprowl and Bradford Green. At an early age, he was discovered by a modeling agency and began work as a child model for various youth educational magazines. Not too long after beginning his career, his family moved for job related opportunities, resulting in a small break from the arts. His passion was rediscovered in middle school after his first theatrical performance in a school play. He would later attend Rollins College where he would study Performance theater full-time and perform in the school's theatrical production in the historic Annie Russell Theater. In 2018, he received his undergraduate degree, majoring in Performance Theater and minoring in International Business. His next stop was a 3-month stint in New York City, where he trained at the William Esper Studio, a school dedicated to the Sanford Meisner Technique. He soon returned to his roots in Florida where he immediately booked a role as David Johnson in his first film Don't Shoot the Messenger (2021).
