Her first film role at age 14 coincided with her first filmed reading - of Rock Hudson and Roddy McDowall, whom she acted opposite in Les Chroniques martiennes (1980). She became a member of British Actors Agency at the age of 15.She is an American citizen with British residency, a direct descendant of Mary Todd Lincoln, and of Scottish, Swedish, Irish and Iroquois descent. She kept her surname of Todd until 1994. Conceived in New York City, she was born in Haight Ashbury a 'love child' and did not learn of her biological father until she was 7 years old. She grew up in New York City, Hollywood, and London, living in squats with her actress mother Donna Todd and moving over 30 times by the age of 17.At age 16 she became legally emancipated in the UK, enrolled in the University of London, moved back to the United States three years later and put herself through Cornell University and graduate school with scholarships and psychic readings. She is a notable alumnus of South Hampstead High School for Girls in London and of The Mirman School for Gifted Children in Los Angeles.Madalyn is also the author of the upcoming "Naked Mother". She gave an interview to the BBC in which she claimed her psychic gifts were developed as a means for survival during early extensive abuse by her mother who poisoned her stepfather when she was eight. (Madalyn's adopted sister Cathy also disappeared at the age of 16 in London, and has never been found.) Madalyn said her mother was "the love, and torment, of my life."Her horoscopes have been translated into 7 languages and she has published ongoing columns in the New York Post, Cosmopolitan, Daily Mail, and others.
