Luis Alves, born (February 12, 1990) to Cape Verdean parents on the island Praia, a volcanic island in the central Atlantic Ocean near Africa; once a Portuguese colony, it now stands independently as Cape Verde. His parents, Joana Alves who works as a nurse, and Luis Paiva who works in car-sales, grew up on the Island Praia and Fogo. Luis is a classically trained actor who received his training in Rotterdam, Netherlands and in Los Angeles, California. Luis began to act in stage plays at the age of twelve. A year later Luis started his classical theater training at Isla Theater (Netherlands) and subsequently attending the respected Hofplein Theater (Netherlands). With his eight-year background in performing in various stage plays, Luis desired to continue his acting-study abroad.
