Luigi Barbini, the alluring young man discovered by Pier Paolo Pasolini only had a seven-year acting career. Working mainly for the master, he appeared in five of his films, owing him his most significant role as Giacomo in "Il vangelo secondo Matteo". He also did a bit in Federico Fellini's' "Giulietta degli spiriti" (1965) and played in half a dozen other movies, including a sword and sandal film. In 1971, Luigi Barbini gave up acting for more 'serious' matters. He indeed studied law at the Faculty of Jurisprudence and became a doctor of law in 1973. He also holds a doctorate in Sacred Theology (obtained in 2004) and another one in Social Doctrine of the Church. A far cry from the playboy of the late 1960's. Show less «
