Louise Saint-Claire is an award-winning actress, critically acclaimed for her performances in dramatic and comedic roles. She is extremely versatile having worked in film, television, theatre and voice over work. Louise graduated from UCT Drama School in 1981, her theatrical career highlights include -Titania in A Midsummer Nights Dream for the opening of the State Theatre and Desdemona in Othello opposite Sir Robert Stephens at Maynardville in Cape Town. Other highlights include Lois in Shrivings with Joe Stewardson, Mary in the original production of Run for Your Wife with Rex Garner and First Night. She was nominated Best Comedy Actress for her role in Mums the Word in 2005. She won a Naledi for Best Actress in 2006 for From Door to Door. In 2007 she performed in Paul Slabolepszy's Under the Oaks, Neil la Butte's, Some Girls and the hilarious 39 Steps, for which she received a Best Comedy nomination. In 2008 she performed, in Paul Slabs latest comedy, For Your Ears Only. The spin-off of this is a daily radio soap on SAfm. In 2009 she played Maria, Dorothy and Verrinder-Gedge in Peter Quilter's Glorious , won critical acclaim in Nicky Silver's Pterodactyls, as Grace and played Veronique in Yasmina Reza's God of Carnage. She has also appeared on television in Isidingo, Behind the Badge, Yizo Yizo, The Res and Generations. Most recently she played Alison in the hit TV series One Way. She won critical acclaim for her role in Jerusalema, other film credits include, Swop, White Wedding and D9 Apart from theatre, film and television Louise is also a dialect coach specializing in numerous different accents. Louise is an accomplished voice over artist doing voice overs and appearing in numerous Radio Dramas, she has read news for 5fm, Highveld and is the voice behind the much loved 'Thelma'. Show less «
