As a fellow of the prestigious AFI Directing Workshop for Women, Lisa Robertson won the Adrienne Shelly Foundation grant for her short film, COMMERCE, at its DGA premiere. The short went on to win awards at numerous film festivals, received global television release, qualified for Academy Award consideration and is a Top 40 All-Time Bestselling Drama short on iTunes.With her feature screenplay, COMMERCE, based on her short, Lisa received multiple Lab Fellowships with Film Independent including Screenwriters Lab, Directing Lab and Fast Track Film Financing at the LA Film Festival. Lisa was Directing Advisor to the 2015 Project Involve fellowship at FIND and will teach in the 2017 FIND Directing Lab.With a premier career as an acting coach in Los Angeles film/TV, Lisa has coached lead and supporting performances in projects as diverse as MUNICH; OCEAN'S 13; THE TWILIGHT SAGA; THE STONING OF SORAYA M; MAD MEN; THE RICHES (Eddie Izzard, on-set); THE PACIFIC; BOSS; UGLY BETTY (Ana Ortiz); THE BRIDGE (Annabeth Gish) in a list that runs to hundreds. Most recently: Netflix's, DEAR WHITE PEOPLE (lead role: Samantha White); Imagine TV's, MARS (lead twin roles: Hana/Joon); BRITNEY biopic (lead/title role).A native of Australia, Lisa's early LA career included her position as Exec/Writer's Assistant to the Creator/Executive Producer of the CBS one hour episodic, THE AGENCY.BACKGROUND:After an early career in dance in her native Australia, a chance meeting with filmmaker, Jane Campion, lead to some months auditioning for the role of Kay, in Ms. Campion's first feature, SWEETIE, which encouraged Lisa to train as an actor in both London and San Francisco, and with acclaimed coach Larry Moss in Los Angeles.Garnering Larry's support, she launched her career as a coach/director and is one of the few coaches personally recommended by Larry.She was also awarded a New Directors Observership by the New York Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation, which she completed at the Ahmanson Theater, Los Angeles.
