Lisa Donovan Lukas has worked as a songwriter, composer, pianist, vocalist, orchestrator, film and television music copyist/proofreader, and music teacher. Lukas earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Composition from the USC Thornton School of Music. Her compositions and songs have been featured in motion pictures and television shows as well as in live performances, recitals and concerts. Lisa's educational piano music is available with Sheet Music Plus.Lukas's accolades include MTAC's prestigious Composers Today awards (2008, 2009, 2010) and numerous ASCAP Plus honors, including Popular Division and Concert Division awards. Lisa composed music for the Daniel Pearl World Music Days concerts in 2011 (To Raise the Wind Horse) and 2013 (3 Prayers).Lisa's students' cumulative interest in writing and composing original material inspired her to create a guide to songwriting, specifically for music students called The Young Musician's Guide to Songwriting.
