Leon Masuda was born in Tokyo, Japan. Her mother is a model, producer and former Miss Japan 1999.Leon started modeling and acting as an infant. As a child actor, she has worked steadily in television shows, music videos, fashion shows, commercials, magazines, and other events. In 2014, her talents and outgoing personality saw her star as the lead actress in the film An American Piano (2014) alongside co-stars Adam J. Yeend, Qyoko Kudo, Jun Matsuo and Lou Ohshiba.Leon is also the current UNICEF Kids Ambassador in Japan (2007-present). Leon and her mother modeled for UNICEF catalogs and were involved in many charity events. Leon continued to hone her talents by appearing in the live performances, commercials, and magazines.When Leon was eight years old, she sent a letter to Johnny Depp asking how to become a pirate, as she was obsessed with the movie Pirates des Caraïbes - La malédiction du Black Pearl (2003) at that time. She had asked many people how she could become a pirate, but nobody gave her a great answer. So she decided to write a letter to the real Captain Jack Sparrow. Two months later, she received a message, photo and autograph from Depp.In 2016, Leon moved to Beverly Hills, California, to pursue her dream as a Hollywood actress. Leon's first job on the big screen was in the Disney feature film, Magic Camp as a member of Team Diamond. She enjoyed filming for three months with Adam Devine, Gillian Jacobs, and Jeffrey Tambor.Leon graduated from Denenchofu Elementary School in Tokyo, Japan, in 2014, and Horace Mann School, Beverly Hills CA, in 2016.
