Lee Crawford was born in London, just before WWII in the East End of London. He was the eldest of 3 children, having a sister, Laura and brother Jeffrey. His parents, Mark & Deborah (Doris) Crawford was 1st generation immigrants, with their antecedence lying in Germany and Romania. At 16, Lee left school and attended drama school. In 1955 at 19, he left the UK to find fame and went to live in Hollywood, as a jobbing actor - though largely making a living as a lumberjack, waiter, and cinema usher. His mini break came when he got a part in the US TV series, Last of the Mohicans. He left the US in 1961, returning to London where he met Lydia Keyes whom he married in 1962. He had 2 children with Lydia in 1963 and 1966, Matthew & Adam. He worked sporadically over the next 35 years with bit parts in the original series of The Saint, starring Roger Moore, a 2 year tenure at the Royal Shakespeare Company in the Aldwych and a lengthy run at the Watermill Theatre, in Newbury, Berkshire. He divorced Lydia in 1977 and remarried several years later, Diana Hobson who survived him when he died in 2007 from a brain tumor as a result of lung cancer. Show less «
