Lee-Anne Summers is a local and international actress, best known in South Africa for her role in the 2007 cinema hit, Big Fellas (2007).Lee-Anne started her acting career at age 5 when she was picked out of a crowd to star in a TV commercial for Walt Disney World. At St Andrews school in Johannesburg, Lee-Anne studied Drama throughout High school and was involved in the productions of Oliver, The Crucible, The Frog Prince and The Hitchhiker. She was also a dancer for most of her early life and even appeared on stage for the Free Flight Dance Company. Like Charlize Theron, her dance career also came to an early end when she fractured her back during training for the school diving team. Before embarking on a professional acting career, Lee-Anne attended UCT where she studied psychology. After graduating, she moved to New York to study acting full time at the New York Film Academy, where she scored top honors and starred in numerous short films.She has appeared on stage in New York in Labute's The shape of things, The Children's hour, Agnes of God and Proof. Lee-Anne's first role on returning to South Africa was in Darrell Roodt's movie Prey with Bridget Mongahan. She went on to play the role of a neurologist in the Docudrama To Be First (2007) and took on the task of playing triplets in the South African movie Big Fellas (2007). In 2008 she graced Holland's small screen with her role as Anneke Keppel in the mini series Stellenbosch (2007).Lee-Anne will be filming the Bollywood movie, Season's Greetings later this year before heading off to Australia for a few months next year to star in a psychological thriller alongside some of Australia's hottest acting talent.Some of her other acting credits include Passport, For a Moment, Born Again, Cave TV, Southern Gentleman, Wonderful Tonight and The Day of the Junkie.
