Layla Alexander was born and raised in Europe and speaks fluent English, Russian, German and French. After the fall of the Berlin Wall she began her career with a starring role in the acclaimed German TV series Dr. Specht. Shortly after, she got a lead role in the feature film Novalis. Layla wrote and directed her first play Odyssey of the Mind which won the German national theater competition. She studied with the Royal Shakespeare Company in London, Theatre En Act in Paris, Juilliard and Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York. Layla honed her craft on stage in numerous New York theater productions such as Don Juan at Circle in the Square Theatre. She worked in independent films such as Hal Hartley's The Book of Life and the Oscar nominated short Speed for Thespians as well as main stream films such as Sleepy Hollow and Serendipity. Her TV work includes starring roles on Law and Order-SVU. After moving to Los Angeles she worked on General Hospital, Days of Our Lives and the TV series The Beast which was directed by Mimi Leder. Most recently she starred in the award winning independent film Movin' Too Fast. This year she's proud to have completed her Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts in Printmaking Cum Laude at California State University Long Beach. Show less «
