Immediately following 'Heart', she auditioned for and won the part of the artful dodger in the musical 'Oliver!'. Due to her success she was asked back 2 years later to play the part of Bet.As a young teen Lauren wanted to take her music further so formed a teen band, with her brother, Steven. They went on to win a place on the live final on national television in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, and a record deal followed. Lauren later became a solo artist, when Steven left the band to concentrate on his football.Lauren penned the song Stand Tall to help in the fight against bullying. This work won her the first 'Anthony Walker Young Citizen of the Year' title, and an invitation to perform in the United States, where she was offered a scholarship to the New York Film Academy. During this time, Lauren was continuing with her film and TV work, which included the shooting of the film 'Senseless'.Stand Tall was later chosen for the Beijing Olympic Games, but right before the games a huge earthquake shook Sichuan. Lauren was asked to fly to Beijing, and within 24 hours re-write the lyrics and learn her song in Mandarin. She was the only Western artist to perform live in the relief concert to 800 million people. She then flew into Sichuan where she spent time working with the children, and a documentary was made about it titled 'Lauren's Journal'.
