Laura Lee was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is of Dutch descent. Laura went to Michigan State University, majoring in marketing and theatre. She worked in the athletic and television industry for years. After raising a family she rediscovered her love of the theatre, stand up comedy and film. She was soon cast in a small play for the BolderLife Festival in Denver, called "Heart and Soul," as well as "Vagina Monologues." She also began performing stand up comedy and was featured as top ten in the "Vaiero American Comedy Festival." At this point Laura began her film work, starting with the Stephen King dollar babies thriller "Big Driver," the Vagabond Production thriller "At Granny's House," followed by other films, including "Battered," and "Dark Night." She guest-starred on the Today Show where she was interviewed by Katie Couric and now hosts her own television show for KPJR in Denver. She has been featured in Internet commercials, industrials, television commercials and voice overs. Her commercial work includes Sotheby's, the Denver Nuggets, Lifescripts and "The Sports Show with Woody Paige and Les Shapiro."
