Lance Khazei is an Emmy nominated writer, award winning producer, and festival festooned director. A prolific writer and creator, Lance has developed and written television comedy for Fox, ABC, MTV, Disney Animation, Dreamworks, Klasky Csupo, Jim Henson Productions, Cartoon Network, Comedy Central and NBC Studios. He has written late night and sketch comedy for John Leguizamo, Bill Maher, and Chevy Chase as well as animated shorts for Robin Williams.Lance made a splash in feature film when he sold his first two original screenplays. Khazei sold "Romantic Comedy," the first screenplay he ever penned, to MGM. The scribe set up his second feature "Baby Formula" at New Line. "Baby Formula" was redeveloped as the theatrical release "Son of the Mask." Khazei has also worked on additional feature films at New Line, Warner Brothers and Columbia Pictures, working primarily in the comedy, action and fantasy genres. Lance penned an original action comedy graphic novel for Archie Comics.In the digital space, Lance has worked as a writer, producer or director on comedies for Fox, Z.com, GQ and Conde Nast. Lance served as a founding producer on HuffPost Live where he created two weekly series - the political round table show "Political Junkies" and "The Writers' Room," an entertainment industry insider series. HuffPost Live was named Mashable's Best Media Innovation of 2012 and earned a Webby Award in 2013. Lance Khazei was named a Producer to Watch in 2015 by Indie's UNITE!Lance Khazei is breaking through as a director of ascending comedy talent and award winning film on the festival circuit. FOX Digital hired Lance to write and direct the sports competition comedy "BRA League," featuring Rob Delaney (Amazon's Catastrophe). "NAMCAR Night Race," an independent comedy Lance wrote, directed and executive produced, premiered in late 2016 to twelve festival wins and additional nominations on the festival circuit in Austin, Houston, Studio City, Hollywood, Los Angeles, Chicago, Paris and Punjab, India. Lance's animated short "Crayos" won the Audience Award at the DSOFF and DMOFF festivals in January 2017. Crayos has a fan in producer Norman Lear who comments, "It is rare to find an original idea in the marketplace of sitcoms these days. But Lance Khazei has done it with Crayos. The animation, style, characters and raw story lines are fresh, interesting and hilarious."Lance Khazei graduated from Harvard with honors where he studied government, rowed varsity lightweight crew and was elected Vice President of the Harvard Lampoon.
