Laimarie was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. At the tender age of 5 with the help of her father, she began writing, casting and directing plays for her church as long as she was always the leading actress. Being the only girl and the youngest of 4 children, her parents supported and encouraged her creativity. The family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana when Laimarie was 8 years old. The move was a difficult one for Laimarie because she did not speak English which kept her from participating in any school productions for a while. Laimarie's #1 priority was to learn English and quickly became involved in School plays & Folk dancing competitions at her elementary school. At 13, Laimarie won the Miss Indianapolis Teen USA Pageant, and she went on to compete in the "Miss Indiana Teen USA Pageant" where she placed last! With a new drive and determination the very next year she entered the "Millie Lewis Modeling Competition" in Atlanta with better results. She won 2nd place overall in both the Runway competition and the commercial competition and 1st place overall in the Photography competition. At the convention, she sparked the interest of a few agencies from New York and within a few months she was in New York going out on castings. After a couple of months she returned to Indianapolis where she continued going to school. In 1994, Due to the success of the convention, the family moved to Atlanta, Ga. where Laimarie continued to pursue her modeling career. In 1995, she was accepted into "Conceptos", the prestigious music school at "Televisa" in Mexico City, Mexico. The next 3 years were busy ones for Laimarie as she landed a spot as the lead singer of the band "Zafra", a duet with Mexican recording artist "Juan Pablo Manzanero", a touring opportunity with "Sasha Sokol" of "Timbiriche" and ultimately as a back-up singer for "Ricky Martin". Upon her return to the United States in 1998, the family once again relocated...... this time, down south to Miami. While in Miami she worked as the host for "Caliente" at "Univision".
