Actress, model and voice-over artist Lai Peng Chan has acquired a remarkable list of credits spanning almost three decades both locally and internationally. She has appeared in numerous TV commercials, feature films, television series, short films, stage productions, and promotional videos and has modeled in photographic campaigns and on the catwalk. Multi-skilled Lai Peng is the author and illustrator of children's picture book, One Lost Feather, which she also lent her voice to for the audio-book version she produced. She continues to compose music to accompany the animated version of her story as well as the 400+ poems she has written. Some of Lai Peng's outstanding screen work includes a guest-starring role on Channel Nine's prime time television series, Sea Patrol and an international commercial for Colgate. She has enjoyed many career highlights including working alongside her father, Kim Chan, as a vampire scientist on Daybreakers, alongside Peter Graves in US television series Mission Impossible and modeling on the runway at the Lumière Enlightened Fashion Show in Los Angeles. She has worked behind the scenes in art direction, production design and wardrobe, has attended fashion week events in Paris and London and has herself designed over a hundred couture fashion items. Passionate about travel and meeting people, Lai Peng who is also a realtor/real estate sales agent, has a love for languages and can speak Malaysian, Indonesian, basic Italian and various Chinese dialects (Cantonese, Teochew, Hokkien, Taiwanese, Mandarin). She is also proficient in British, Australian, American, Indian, Singaporean, Malaysian, French, and Italian accents. She is a physiotherapist by trade and in her spare time enjoys playing strategic board games, designing couture fashion, writing, doing Tai Chi and Qi Gong, fund-raising for various causes, appreciating the simple things in life, and spending time with her precious loved ones. An active member of the community, Lai Peng has been guest author and illustrator to Centenary Rocks Festival, Good News Book Fair, National Library Week, National Book Week, numerous schools, and libraries in Gold Coast and Brisbane City Councils and Scenic Rim region, and has compèred and sang at Miss Chinatown Pageant and other events including the Mount Ommaney Mid-Autumn Moon Cake Festival. Armed with her vast and varied life exploration, this well-traveled, spirited, compelling, vibrant, versatile professional is able to draw on her wide variety of skills and life experiences to bring a fresh edge to her work.
