Kylie Garcelon is a screenwriter and director. Most recently she received The Jury Award at the NOVA International Film and Music Festival for her spec script, Whistling in the Dark and two nominations for Best Screenplay - Drama, for Whistling in the Dark and Outlaw - The Personal Justice of Katie Watson. She was a semi-finalist at the Nashville Film Festival for, Outlaw - The Personal Justice of Katie Watson, in 2017.Kylie's 2016 short documentary, The Culinary Professor, won Best Woman Filmmaker at the Canadian Diversity Film Festival (Dec) and Best Woman Filmmaker at the Hollywood International Independent Documentary Awards in addition to Best Short Documentary. It was also a nominee at the prestigious, 2017 IACP Awards and received the Best Current Events Film at the 2017 CUNY Film Festival in NYC.In 2015 Kylie wrote and directed Moral Compass a narrative short which earned her a Best Director-Short Drama, award at the 2016 Atlantic City Cinefest. It was nominated for Best Short Film - Drama, at the 2017 Winter Film Awards. The film was also nominated for Best Short Drama, Best Supporting Actor (won), and Best Actress at NOVA International Film and Music Festival.Kylie has just completed production as writer-director on the feature film, The Dog Walker, a psychological thriller which is moving into post production.Kylie is a member of New York Women In Film and Television, the Australian Writers Guild, the International Screenwriter's Association and the Independent Film Project. She has a big imagination and a weakness for the underdog.
