The Chinese Minster of Foreign Affairs has internationally declared ASURA to be the launch of a new era in Asian Cinema -- finally competing in budget and Box Office with the largest U.S Hollywood blockbusters. ASURA was shot in seven different locations across China with eight months of 2nd unit and more than 2500 VFX shots. It had one of the most successful theatrical runs of any micro-budget Canadian film in history, with 80% of the reviews being four stars.Hit 'n Strum premiered at the Canadian Independent Film Festival in Toronto and was given a standing ovation; nearly sweeping the awards, including Best Cinematography (Pieter Stathis), Best Actor (Kirk Caouette), and the William F. White Award.Hit 'n Strum represented Canada at the prestigious Shanghai International Film Festival, where it had sold out screenings and glowing critical reviews.
