Kimisha Renee Davis was born in Santa Clara, California, & raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the artistic child in her family: At a young age she played piano, violin, & viola; & was involved in visual & performing arts. Kimisha Renee's passion for entertaining escalated in 2nd grade when she was involved in Primary Players, a performing children's choir; & since then, she continued to sing in many choirs throughout grade school. Kimisha Renee discovered acting in the 9th grade, when she performed in her 1st musical, Damn Yankees, at Indian Hill High School. And in 10th grade she began her training at the, School for Creative & Performing Arts (S.C.P.A.), triple majoring in acting, vocal music, & musical theatre.Triple majoring was unheard of, but determined, the school allowed it because Kimisha Renee knew it was what she needed to do. In her first couple of months, she received an ensemble role in her first play; Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors. But after a month into rehearsal, teachers saw her talent, commitment, & potential thus she was asked to play the supporting lead role, as the part of the young man, Dromio of Ephesus. During her tenure at S.C.P.A., she performed numerous plays & musicals not only in S.C.P.A's theatres, but also professionally throughout the city of Cincinnati. Kimisha Renee also performed in stage readings, was in Drama Ensemble, a highly selective acting troupe, & also sung in two award winning prestigious traveling singing ensembles; the male & female mixed choir of Chorale, & the female A Capella group; Baby Grands. It was no surprise that by senior year Kimisha Renee had the opportunity to perform with the Cincinnati Black Theatre Company, as Lady in Green, in For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf, by Ntozake Shange. Not only was the play sold out every night, but Kimisha Renee was featured on the front page of the Cincinnati Enquire & featured in the Cincinnati Herald for her outstanding performance. Also in her senior year, she was chosen to represent S.C.P.A. at the International Thespian Society's drama competition for Ohio. She won 1st place in monologue, & competed in nationals in Nebraska, & won 1st place yet again. By this time Kimisha Renee was certain that she wanted to pursue acting as her career. She auditioned for many prestigious drama schools & after careful thought & consideration she chose to train at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), the oldest Ivy League school for theatre in the United States. At CMU she loved the conservatory style training & discovered her passion for acting on camera. While in school Kimisha Renee booked her 1st audition for a feature film as the part of Kelly in Adventureland, written & directed by Gregg Mattola. With cast mates such as Kristen Stewart, Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, & Ryan Reynolds, she decided to transfer from CMU to a working professional actress. While on set of the summer blockbuster comedy, she spent as much time as she could playing with costumes in the wardrobe trailer. And after wrapping the film, she applied to the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) to major in Fashion Design. In her 1st semester Kimisha Renee was awarded an exclusive Cotton Inc. Scholarship Award ($5,000) for designing & creating her very first couture evening dress; inspired by ancient Egypt and Japan. She won because her beautiful dress was innovative: not only was it reversible, the skirt was detachable; being able to be worn multiple ways, the fabric was made out of organic cotton, & the embellishments were hand designed & made out of recycled 24k gold; she created a garment that was sustainable art & cruelty free.Kimisha Renee loves her life as both an actress & sustainable fashion designer. She is writing a transformational screenplay & creating a vegan fashion line. Show less «
