Keyla Wood was born on August 30th, in the crowded and place of hope Mexico City, in Mexico. Keyla, is her first name and the name that has followed her along her whole life. She has freely admitted that she was totally moved and touched by opera at the time that she was 6 years old, and since then has been one of her passion in life. She did study singing for 9 years. When she was 10 she begin her instruction in arts, in a school in Mexico city run by INBA. There she discovered her aptitude for dancing and her full infatuation for acting. When she was 16 she started college, at UNAM, and she was fully convinced of her vocation to be and actress and her nature as an artist and she feel ready to pursue acting seriously.During her university acting period she was conforming a lot of the theatrical cast of her generation. Also she begin experience several artistic fields, music was one of them. She did appear in several commercials during her teens and by the end of her time in college she had her first opportunity to work into film industry in Frida (2002) by the side of Salma Hayek. She worked at the show of Si Graham Norton (2002),with Graham Norton and studied drama, in London. Then she understood how significant was acting in her life, was the main passion in her heart and also a motor to drive her life though. Coming back to Mexico she worked in several soap operas in Tv Azteca for about 3 years, and in Telemundo Latin American Brodcaster network in the TV drama Ladrón de Corazones (2003). In 2006 she was cast by Laura Richard to be part of the project Breached (2005), a graduated film work for NYU, awarded and screened in Tribeca Film Festival and several more. Also to inteprete Gemma at Mariposa a film by Elvira Carrizal from Columbia University At long last, Keyla, made her way to Los Angeles. The 25 year old actress approached Hollywood with naive enthusiasm, and quickly learned that Hollywood was a tough town. The same year was located by Shawn Jackson, to worked in his launching video as a solo rap artist Feeling Jack directed by Hilton Carter. Once she was already adapted in LA she had a huge challenge to work in a company of theater called Hot Tamales Live!!! Directed by Kiki Melendez, and also produced by Eva Longoria. Acting into a sketch call "Trumping my maid" in the role of Maria. This show is a regular show at the Comedy Store in L.A. She also started classes with Amy Lyndon in Studio City. After this performance she was into a project call Erotics Nights of Dead and Torture, in New York City, written by Cristopher Brown, the deal this time was off-Broadway theater,at the Producers club on the 44th st. After this she was in los Angeles in the show of B'jamania with Benjamin Kaltenecker en North Hollywood. She acted in Reunion (2008/1) by Alan Hruska, in New York City. El deseo, by MarieBenito, goes to Cannes Film Festival in the official competition. She worked in several National Film Festivals as a presentor and a support image, like FICA, Expresion en Corto, and DOCSDF. On October 2008 she has the recognizing by the Mexican National Associate Press for an outstanding performance out of her native Mexico. Her education includes a bachelors degree in drama and 4 languages English, Italian, Portuguese, Swedish. She is a full lover of al the topics that enrich her existence, and journey though this life as arts, cooking, love, sex and kabbalah. She also created a Meditation project about Chakras points.
